Can Carpet Cleaning Coupons Actually Save You Money?

We’ve all heard the horror stories about the carpet cleaning coupons that come in the mail.  You know the ones we are talking about.  The carpet cleaning coupons that advertise any size room for $9.95 and then the actual bill comes to hundreds of dollars.  How do you sift through the many carpet cleaning coupons to find the offers that are actually deals and not bait and switch schemes?

Doing a bit of research prior to setting the appointment will help you to know what carpet cleaning coupons are legitimate.  Be sure to read the fine print on any carpet cleaning coupons.  For example, if you get a coupon that reads “3 rooms cleaned for $100,” be sure to verify how much square footage that covers.  Your rooms may exceed the total square footage allowed with the coupon.  The resulting charge for additional square footage could be pricey.

You will also want to ask if services that are typically considered standard are included with the carpet cleaning coupons.  For example, is furniture moving additional?  What about pre-treating of spots or high traffic areas?  These services are both normally included in the basic carpet cleaning rate.  If these services are not included in the rate for the carpet cleaning coupons, the company is likely going to use these charges to make additional money.  If you want your carpets scotch guarded after cleaning, be sure to ask if this is included in the cost of the coupon.

When considering which carpet cleaning coupons to use, interview several companies to determine if you are actually getting the best deal.  Ask what each company includes with their rate and then compare your notes.  Is one company including more steps or features in their rates?  Make sure you are getting the most bang for your buck.  Don’t forget to ask for references, and to check the BBB for complaints, before choosing any carpet cleaning company.

The important thing to remember is that many reputable professional carpet cleaning companies offer coupons.  Don’t automatically assume that any coupon is a bait and switch.  With just a bit of research, you can easily discern a good deal from a scam.
